Freshwater Strategy Director Michael Turner says he thinks members of the Conservative Party see UK Foreign Secretary Lizz Truss as someone who will protect Boris Johnson’s legacy.

The gap between her and the second candidate, former chancellor Rishi Sunak, has narrowed – but time might be running out for him with majority having already voted.

“The interesting thing about this poll is it shows that if Boris Johnson was on the ticket today, he would beat both candidates,” Mr Turner told Sky News Australia. “So, he is still very, very popular with the membership, and that might well be the reason why Liz Truss is also ahead, because remember she’s still in the government.

“She’s still part of Boris Johnson’s government, she didn’t resign, and she is almost the unofficial approved candidate for Number 10 if you like.”

‘Non-exercising’ of ministerial powers ‘proves they were handled responsibly’: MorrisonFormer prime minister Scott Morrison says not exercising the powers he had after being sworn into several portfolios proves they were handled “responsibility” and weren’t “abused”. “I believed it was a prudent responsible action in the middle of a crisis to have these emergency powers in place to ensure that I could exercise the expectations of my responsibilities,” Mr Morrison said during a media conference on Wednesday. “The expectation was created of that responsibility, and I made sure that I was in a position to act should I have to, and thank goodness that was not necessary, and I think this is a point that is being overlooked. “The non-exercising of these powers proves that they were ... there in a reserve capacity to ensure the Prime Minister could act if that was necessary.” B U L L S H I T!!! Why the secrecy? He's a pathological liar stop quoting him, maybe ask him about his affair instead.

Bolt: People should ‘check how nasty’ the ‘green world’ will getSky News host Andrew Bolt says the “green world is taking shape” as prices skyrocket and the price of net zero by 2050 is revealed. “Maybe you should check how much nastier this global warming heaven could get,” he said. “Start with a report last month by Deloitte, commissioned by the NAB bank happily predicting that to reach Labor’s target of net zero emissions by 2050 we will need – get this – $20 trillion of investment.” Mr Bolt said this was 20 times the amount of the government’s already massive debt and companies who sell “everything from solar panels to carbon credits” will see their revenue spike.

There’s ‘still a lot of pain’ and ‘distress’ since the ‘catastrophic’ floods earlier this yearNSW Premier Dominic Perrottet says it’s pleasing to see the progress that’s been made over the last couple of months, but there’s still a lot of pain and distress since the catastrophic flood events earlier this year. “There’s a long journey ahead, and that creates many challenges for many people,” Mr Perrottet told Sky News Australia. “We need to follow those recommendations that came out yesterday to make sure the mistakes of the past are not made in the future. “We’ll do everything we can to get people … out of temporary accommodation and into homes as soon as we can.” SkyNews should be ecstatic - for the last 25 years you have outright denied climate change was happening and now with each devastating weather event we see the price and God knows what we will get in 30 years...everyone working there should be congratulated...bad luck Lismore!! Let’s hope that this includes the people from Cabbage tree island who have been inexplicably ‘bypassed’ - families, children, elderly - as soon as landlords learn of their ethnicity, properties became unavailable.
