Police are now on the hunt for an unknown man, accused of sexually assaulting the little girl inside the storage area at Lollipop’s Playland and Cafe on Mulgoa Rd in Penrith.
Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commander Detective Superintendent John Kerlatec told reporters on Monday the young girl was found in an “extremely distressed” state and taken to Westmead children’s hospital with several injuries. However, the alleged culprit remains at large. Supt Kerlatec said investigators would “keep an open mind” and acknowledged police had struggled to get concrete information out of the two-year-old because of her age. Picture: SuppliedSupt Kerlatec said the girl’s injuries were sufficient enough to cause serious concern.“The child was obviously very distressed. All parents would be concerned, firstly that the child went missing, and finding your child in a distressed state.
Investigators are also scouring CCTV from the play centre and neighbouring businesses in a desperate attempt to find the man, whose age is unknown. “The safety of our customers and staff is always paramount. We thank you all for your support and understanding in this difficult time.”he and his partner noticed a woman frantically searching for her child.
