Firefighters forced entry to the burning home and rescued a 74-year-old woman from the bedroom."Firefighters did rescue one occupant from the burning building under intense fire conditions," Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Adam Dewberry said.The roof started to collapse around firefighters and the blaze was too ferocious for crews to go back in for a 77-year-old man with mobility issues.The house has been completely destroyed by the fire.
"It's a very challenging working environment for our firefighters," Fire and Rescue NSW Deputy Commissioner Jeremy Fewtrell "Their immediate commanders said to me they've never seen them work as hard and as tough as they did this morning.Neighbours are devastated for the family of the two residents. "It's very sad news I was walking here a few days ago and a man was sitting in a wheelchair outside the house and it's very sad," neighbour Bob Davidovic said.Two people were killed when this Glendenning home went up in flames.Police have established a crime scene and evidence will be forensically examined.
