The incident happened around 2.30pm on Saturday when they got into difficulties while crossing a fast flowing waterway on their return from hiking in Katoomba, a police spokesperson said.
“They managed to cross to the other side and as they continued along the track, their path was again blocked by more fast-flowing water which had formed a waterfall across the track,” the statement said.Blue Mountains Police Rescue and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and managed to locate the pair near Nelly’s Glen.
