Turkey-Syria quake death toll doubles to at least 3,500 people dead

We continue to monitor the situation closely with our embassies in Ankara, Istanbul, and Beirut.Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirmed on Monday night there had been no Australians casualties involved in the tragedy at this stage.

Syria was also hit by the quake with 1,297 reported dead so far, and another 1,353 injured across the towns of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama and Tartus.
