Rapid tuberculosis testing is set up to screen hundreds of staff and patients of Sydney's St Vincent's Hospital following the detection of five cases of the same strain.

Rapid tuberculosis testing has been set up to screen hundreds of staff and patients of Sydney's St Vincent's Hospital following the detection of a cluster. The first case can be traced back to a patient treated at St Vincent's Hospital in OctoberThe hospital said the cluster started with a patient treated for asthma and pneumonia at the hospital last October who was diagnosed with tuberculosis several weeks later.

St Vincent's Respiratory Physician and tuberculosis specialist Anthony Byrne said testing had since found all five cases to be the same strain. Standard treatment for TB involves isolating the patient and placing them in a negative pressure room while all treating health care personnel wear additional protective clothing and equipment.

Where's Gladys? hope she does not blame Victoria for this too.

Yep....next month....rabies....

First it was tuberculosis vaccine provided partial protection from severe covid19 clinical symptoms, now the narrative changes covid19 possibly precipitating tuberculosis. Geez... Luckily, I've had BCG shot twice and it's a nasty vaccine too, causes a bad reaction.

Just great.....

Shit... better shut down the world and go into lockdown 🙄

Omg FUN

I had a TB jab, is it not given to people these days ?

I was exposed to TB on almost a daily basis for nearly 2 years overseas. I came home, got an x-ray and told by the doctor I should be fine because I was physically healthy and not malnourished.

Thanks again to the diversity the third world brings us. I hope the curry was worth it.

I smell mendacity.... raise the false flag

Finally a disease worth the worry.

I can’t follow you anymore. You’re all panic. Salmonella and TB within an hour. Defund? I’d shit you down. Where’s the balance?

Those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

ScottyFromMarketing AuspolSoCorrupt 'I've certainly said to NSW businesses and community organisations, don't have anything to do with those hotspots, that's just common sense pandemic management.' My brother & his family are flying to Melbourne over the weekend for a 21st party no less! He's of the mentality that these things happen to others. I'm still treating it very seriously & the same way as in March, but if you ask him I'm just 'over worrying'. Sick of complacency.

Sydney school closes after Year 2 student tests positive for coronavirusIt's the fourth instance of coronavirus within a Sydney school community in the past month, but comes amid flatlining community transmission in NSW across the past seven days. Wasn't it not too long ago when people were saying children won't catch the virus? Something something immune? Wait but Scotty told me the virus can't come in to schools unless it's invited, like vampires. This is a great opportunity for former ABC employees to give back and offer the parents free daycare
