President Donald Trump has authorised the release of a transcript of a highly contested phone call with Ukraine's leader in which he allegedly brought-up investigating former US Vice President Joe Biden and his son.

Mr Trump took to Twitter to say “this is nothing more than a continuation of the greatest and most destructive witch hunt of all time!” Critics of the US President have accused him of bullying the Ukraine to dig-up information on his political rival, amid confirmation he withheld foreign aid from Ukraine in the days leading up to the phone call.
