Investigators have revealed that the mid-air crash of two helicopters on the Gold Coast that killed four people and left several others injured could have been worse.
Meanwhile, tributes are flowing for Sea World’s chief chopper pilot Ashley Jenkinson, who died in the tragedy, and who has been described as a “legend” and a “true gentleman”. One woman and a child were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital while another child was also in a critical condition at Queensland Children’s Hospital on Tuesday morning.
Mitchell said both helicopters were being removed from the area to continue investigations and he urged witnesses to come forward.
