Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was among hundreds of mourners Lance Corporal Jack Fitzgibbon's funeral this morning.Lance Corporal Jack Fitzgibbon has been remembered as a "modest" and "compassionate" person with an infectious sense of humour during a funeral service in the New South Wales Hunter Valley.He is the son of former defence minister and Member for Hunter Joel Fitzgibbon, who served 26 years in federal parliament.
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton and Minister for Defence Richard Marles were also among the mourners who packed the church.In a pre-recorded speech played during the service, Joel Fitzgibbon reflected on the night he found out his son had died."We took great comfort from the fact that Jack died doing something he loved and in service to his country.
