People in Queensland who have been in Perth or the Peel region in Western Australia since April 17 are required to comply with WA's lockdown measures.

Until the lockdown is lifted, Queenslanders who were in the affected WA region would only be able to leave home for essential goods, health care, exercise or end-of-life visits.Mr McGowan confirmed the man was infectious in the community in WA for five days and a close contact of the man in Perth had also tested positive for the virus.

The lockdown came into effect from midnight Friday and is expected to be lifted in the early hours of April 27.
