Sydney Airport has blamed staff shortages for major delays on Monday morning as impacted passengers took to social media to express their anger over queues which spilled out the door.

Sydney Airport attributed the delays to a lack of staff, saying a significant amount of rostered security employees took sick leave on Monday.

Departures from the domestic terminal appeared to be the worst affected, with travellers captured crammed inside the check-in area and lines rolling out the doors and down the footpath. "Sydney Airport’s security queue snaking its way through the domestic terminal and out the door. I arrived at the airport an hour-and-a-half before my flight this morning and spent over an hour in the security queue. Made it in just the nick of time," one user wrote."Security queue at Sydney Airport. 150m long and that’s just outside the terminal," a third added.

Well fact is we have health mandates to thank for this mess allow unvaccinated workers back frankly i Think theirs enough evidence to prove being vaccinated is as useless as prayer

Funny how the staff shortages are always on a Monday.

Can we be specific? Is this Sydney domestic or international Airport ?

They are paid billions and can’t sort out a staff roster?

The “new” norm at airports. Start actually paying a proper wage rather than these directors getting millions in bonuses Qantas
