Airline passengers from New South Wales who were caught out by the sudden hotspot declaration for Greater Sydney yesterday have the choice of a free flight home, a cost-free mandatory quarantine stay or a refunded ticket if they had already bought a return flight, the NT's Health Minister says.

A further 15 cases were confirmed today, bringing the total number of cases related to that cluster to 83. "We know this has caused disruption to people, particularly at Christmas and I apologise for that inconvenience but we mustn't let this virus into the NT community," she said. "If you were on a flight or in transit yesterday, we will cover the costs of returning to Sydney and as we said yesterday you won't be charged a quarantine fee," she said.
