The program is being supported by the Australian Government's Recovery for Regional Tourism Program, which is a more than three million dollar initiative part of the Morrison government's one billion dollar COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund.

The Fund is designed to help regions, communities and industries economically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Tourism Minister Sarah Courtney said the voucher program aims to support tourism businesses and jobs. "Tasmania's vibrant tourism industry adds millions to our economy and supports thousands of jobs around the State, particularly in regional areas and this voucher program will bring attention to our spectacular products and destinations to encourage visitation," Ms Courtney said.Tasmanian Senator Jonathon Duniam said the program gives people a chance to visit Tasmania as the summer holiday period starts.

"Australians are keen to get travelling again and Tasmania is open for business," Senator Duniam said.
