Trams will shut down for two days as part of the wage dispute between the Rail, Tram and Bus Union and Yarra Trams.

The Rail, Tram and Bus Union has been at loggerheads with Yarra Trams over the union's demand for a 6 per cent annual pay rise over three years. Yarra Trams is offering a 3 per cent annual rise over four years.

Yarra Trams chief executive Nicolas Gindt said the upcoming action was "like the previous ... unnecessary and unproductive", adding that he had offered to meet the union at any time. But union secretary Luba Grigorovitch said Yarra Trams had only itself to blame. “Since the second vote, Yarra Trams has stubbornly refused to move from the position voted down by its workforce.“We have notified Yarra Trams of the stoppages well in advance so it can reflect on its position and then hopefully bargain sensibly.”

"Yarra Trams’ offers have taken on board feedback and made adjustments to our part-time proposal, as well as adding sign-on bonuses in addition to a good offer of 12 per cent over four years," Mr Gindt said.

Dan Andrews did not say Yes fast enough.

And yet, an independent tribunal awards politicians (Federal & State) regular wages rises. No stiking or protesting in the streets for them. Nor heated negotiation talks. Or bickering bw both sides. It just happens. Like a tooth fairy secretly leaving money under their pillows.

Greedy unions wanting 18% pay rise over three years, holding the city to ransom. Victoria is getting what it voted for.

Past deeds catching up with Toby Greene as AFL decides Giants star's fateToby Greene is considered by many to be lucky to have escaped suspension last week, but his good fortune may run out at the AFL tribunal, writes Alister Nicholson. I've been trying to find a way to get him to come back to the AFL. The last time I saw him anywhere else was a few years ago, but he was a perfect fit for the club. He has no place in an AFL game with his eye 👁 gouging habit. As said so many times before “Your actions have consequences and you must accept the liabilities of them”

Calls for major City Loop upgrade the equivalent to a '10-lane freeway'Two short sections of underground track added to the City Loop could provide the equivalent of a 10-lane freeway through the heart of the city, an influential transport group says. No chance it can be done at the same time of the current upgrade. Idiots. Brilliant ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 lets hope this gets added to the table for real consideration.... Trains are expensive to run and should be abandoned. Buses would replace them at 25% of cost.
