Residents near the scene of a horror truck smash have been warned to stay indoors as toxic smoke billows through the air.

The B-double trucks collided on Victoria Street in Wetherill Park about 6.30am on Thursday sparking a huge fire.Fire and Rescue NSW feared the trucks were transporting chemicals and urged local residents to remain indoors and prevent the billowing smoke from seeping into homes.“FRNSW has assigned a large number of resources to the incident including hazardous materials specialists.

“Operations will be ongoing throughout the day to determine the type of loads the trucks were transporting.”Residents in the area should also remove washing from clotheslines, while those with asthma were being advised to limit their outdoor activity. Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, police said.Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
