A Townsville man who has been playing the same numbers for 25 years has revealed he began to doubt them in the weeks before his $1.6 million Saturday Gold Lotto win. He broke down when he realised the numbers had landed him with enough money to finally enter the housing market after decades of renting.
“I’ll tell you the truth, though, I did start doubting these numbers, and I was thinking about four weeks ago whether to redo different numbers.” The emotional Queenslander said they’ve already started planning how to spend the money, and have come up with a few ideas already. “This money is going to help us. We’ve been renting for decades,” he said. “We’d love to buy our own house. We also want to pay off the daughter’s house, and with the rest, perhaps we’ll go on a holiday and travel.
