Alice Springs' struggling tourism sector has lost more than $20 million in cancellations since March 2024, prompting calls to the federal and territory governments to fund a $50 million rescue package.

"We ran some courses in conjunction with the Trinidad and Tobago tourism ministry, for every single person working in the tourism industry, and the Minister of Tourism actually participated in the course, which was really good," he said."What we did over a period of a week was give them some tips about how best the tourism businesses could work with police forces and other emergency services.
