Thousands of residents across 90 Western Sydney suburbs will not be able to leave their local government areas for work this morning under strict new stay at home rules.

Parramatta, Campbelltown and Georges River have joined Fairfield, Canterbury-Bankstown, Liverpool, Cumberland and Blacktown as LGAs of concern after Greater Sydney’s lockdown was extend for a month.

Those on the list of essential workers who are allowed to leave their LGA for work are required to undergo surveillance testing every three days. While construction work will resume with tight restrictions for non-occupied sites it is not permitted in the eight LGAs of concern.
