A student at one of Sydney’s most prestigious all boys schools has died after suffering an allergic reaction at a sporting event.

Year 11 student Leon Li had attended an end of season rowing event in Mosman where he had delivered an amusing and articulate speech.“Leon was not only a dedicated student but also a much-loved and respected member of our Shore community,” he wrote.

Photo: Supplied “Leon’s untimely passing occurred, to the best of our knowledge, as a result of an anaphylactic reaction to food on Wednesday night.” Dr Collier said Leon had been part of the school community since Year 7 and had made “a profound impact” on students, describing him as popular and a “natural leader”.

“Leon’s involvement in various aspects of School life reflected his diverse interests and talents. He was a valued member of our rowing team and served as cox for the Third IV. “Additionally, Leon was actively engaged in cadets, drama, golf and music, showcasing his multifaceted abilities and passions.”A report into the teen’s death is being prepared for the coroner.
