Former Victorian Liberal Party president Michael Kroger says former prime minister Tony Abbott would be a “fairly obvious” choice to fill the Senate vacancy in New South Wales.

Speaking to Sky News Australia host Paul Murray, Mr Kroger said Mr Abbott would be the best person to fill the vacancy caused by the recent death of Senator Jim Molan.

Senator Molan, a former army major general, died on Monday aged 72 after an almost two-year long battle with cancer.“Obviously this is a matter purely for the New South Wales party,” Mr Kroger said.Read More

Yeah back to the future

When leftovers eat the leftovers

Will he keep drawing his pension or add to it

You lie. Credlin was promised his position. Watch out for the fireworks. The LNP is about to self destruct. They'd serve more purpose in volunteering for Ukraine on the front line. They love that Patriot stuff. Oh sorry none of them know what it really means.

Yes please

He should be in house of reps!

So... the Liberal party is that low on talent. Tony Abbott is a “fairly obvious” choice for a PHON senator. Remember just how bad it got in 2015...and you want that back? Stay in opposition forever then.

Agree he has some starch and stands for liberal Conservative values.

Was Brendan Abbott busy...Brett Cowan perhaps..Brother Bernard McGrath, Patrick Power

Like the plague in Europe Kroger is ringing the bell. .bring out your dead... set loosers...

Please do! The Liberal Party with PeterDutton_MP & his Deputy sussanley are already on a road to nowhere... the return of Tony Abbott would be the final straw. Pick me up off the floor! 🤣🤣🤣

Kroger is off his head . Abbot !!!! Brought Back from the dead. Kroger must be JOKING . The Australians after being governed for 9 years by conmen have voted for Albo and have rejected Morrison the conman and his vile cabinet.

Why? Why would he want to go backwards?

'Former' says it all lol

Kroger then noted that the talent pool was shallower than an ashtray.

Oh yes please, there won’t be a Liberal party soon. 😂

Do it.

Yep he's the obvious choice because he's white, he's a male and he lacks talent. So clearly the best choice for the LiberalAus to choose for the Senate! Auspol2023 VoteYes

Would be brilliant.

Did they mention which decade the senate vacancy would be in?

Katherine Deeves would be better

yeah nuh what australia needs is jeffrey gib kennett after all we still have much of the public service to privatise

No way his just part of the same old bomb dropping baby killer Johnny

Yes, the voters kick him out and the Party shovels him back in. No contempt here.

Kroeger barracking for his mates.

Yes go on! The LNP will never get back in government with Dutton and Abbott and the rest of the dinosaurs in opposition

The people voted to get tony out.. why you hate democracy

Amy: “the man who ran the disastrous 2018 Victorian election campaign pushing for the prime minister who lost his seat to be put into the senate to ‘save’ the Liberal party is entirely on brand and I hope they do it”

Former PM pushed to take vacant Senate spot amid factional clashTony Abbott has been floated as the “very obvious” choice to fill the casual vacancy following the death of NSW Liberal Senator Jim Molan - but the factions are expected to gear up for a fierce feud over the spot. Why did an old sick white bloke stand for re-election in 2019. They can't let it go can they. If you were born after 1953 please considerer retirement, especially if you're weak and sick like Derryn.

‘Uncertainty’ created by government’s ‘complex’ energy reformsAPPEA CEO Samantha McCulloch says the energy industry has been waiting for a response from the government on how the gas price cap will work “in practice”. “That guidance has just been released this morning, that is welcome, we’ll be working through the detail of that,” Ms McCulloch told Sky News Australia. “But really, this goes to the level of uncertainty that’s been created by these very complex reforms that have been implemented with very little consultation.”

‘It’s not quitting, it’s slacking’: The phrase ‘quiet quitting’ is ‘wrong’The phrase 'quiet quitting' is 'wrong,' says broadcaster and wordsmith Kel Richards. “Quiet quitting describes a person who goes to work, sits at their desk and does as little as possible,” Mr Richards told Sky News host Gary Hardgrave. “I’m sorry, they are not quitting. “Whatever they are doing, they have not resigned. It is not quitting, it is slacking.” You perform the duties you're paid to do and that's it. If you want them to do more, pay more. You owe the company nothing but what you sign for. It’s called work to rule Oh so doing what you are contracted to do and saying no to extra work that comes with often no additional compensation is considered 'slacking off'?
