Sky News contributor peterswitzer says the federal government needs to introduce a system 'that will stop dumb Aussies' ruining the economy and has called for a border reopening timetable.

Sky News contributor Peter Switzer says the federal government needs to introduce a system "that will stop dumb Aussies" ruining the economy and has called for a border reopening timetable. "It's dumb Aussies that were playing up in hotel quarantine. It's dumb Aussies who aren't social distancing," he said.

Mr Switzer said a "real recession" would be on our hands if the government could not manage slight fluctuations in virus cases while kickstarting the economy beyond JobKeeper. "The Premiers are worried about upcoming elections in the case of WA, Qld and the NT but they also don't want what happened in Victoria happening here," he said.
