Wests Tigers captain James Tamou fears the suspension he is set to face for his calling referee Ben Cummins 'f****** incompetent' may be enough to end his career.

abc.net.au/news/tigers-tamou-admits-ref-spray-may-end-nrl-career/101354628Wests Tigers captain James Tamou says his "heart dropped" when he realised a verbal attack on referee Ben Cummins may have ended his NRL career.

He turned his frustrations on Cummins and was sin-binned for dissent in the 79th minute but had his punishment upgraded to a sending-off for calling the referee "f****** incompetent" as he left the field. Melbourne hooker Brandon Smith was referred for calling referee Adam Gee a "cheating bastard" in July, and keen on deterring players from committing similar offences, the judiciary banned him for four weeks.

While he is in negotiations to extend his career by at least another year, Tamou said the possibility of his retiring on such inauspicious terms was difficult to swallow."It would be a tough way to go out of a game that has given me a lot.

. Plenty of clubs there to sign him on pay per play. .

There needs to be rules in place to protect officials both on and off the field. Just copy the AFL they seem to have it right.

Telling a ref off when you're getting flogged should be career ending.

The secrets that made Morrison a pariah in parts of his own partyScott Morrison may be the loneliest politician in Australia as this week ends. RodBamberry 😅😅 I have come to the conclusion that all politicians in Australia are corrupt. As a result, I will be following the footy from now on. Much more honest and fun, if not a little woke.
