Richmond star Daniel Rioli says the Tigers have “full confidence” in whoever is picked to fill the massive void left by injured key forwards Tom Lynch and Noah Balta.

Richmond could regain a trio of stars as the club confirmed how long spearhead Tom Lynch would miss with a hamstring injury.

The injuries to Lynch and Balta, who will miss four to six weeks, could have opened the door for Jacob Bauer to play his fifth game, but the 192cm swingman will be out for the same amount of time as Balta after scans confirmed a hamstring strain. “I might have to put myself down there, I’ve got that experience! It’s unfortunate, Balta out and Lynchy … two quality players at our footy club,” Rioli said.

“We rely on Lynchy so much in that forward line and he’s a key target for us. We’re going to miss him, he’s had tough luck with injuries and what not but he comes into the club with a smile on his face and a positive attitude which we love here at the club,” he said.

Richmond Tigers under pressure against Port AdelaideThe Tigers are looking good when they move it fast - they had Port Adelaide under big pressure inside 50, but Aliir Aliir got the ball clear after about five false starts there. They keep the pressure up, though and force a throw-in in the right forward pocket. It ends up bouncing for Dustin Martin, who spears a pass inbound to Daniel Rioli, who marks in front. Richmond is playing better, they've dragged the inside 50 deficit back to 20-23. The Tigers are leading the clearances 12-10, and edging contested possessions 49-45. The big issue for the home side is marks inside 50. The Power have seven to Richmond's one. If that trend continues, surely Port Adelaide will make them pay
