The Thunder produced one of the best comebacks in the WBBL's short history on Thursday night, as some spectacular fielding and two wickets in two deliveries from 18-year-old Hannah Darlington saw the Sydney side home by 12 runs.
Sammy-Jo Johnson finished off the incredible comeback, taking the last wicket with a catch off her own bowling against her former team as the Heat crumbled to be all out for 131, losing 6-12 from 19 deliveries to end the match."We didn't really have any grand plans in how we were going to take on Darlington," she said. "But to her credit she bowled exceptionally well in a clutch time in the innings.
"There is a lot going in the team, we are really hyped up," Darlington said. "But I think it's best that we get back down to level head as there is another game to go.""Emotions are running high and the adrenaline is pumping," she said after the match. The Thunder will likely be looking to refine their starting power over the next few days before the final.
It was left to skipper Rachael Haynes to help the Thunder to a competitive total, finishing the innings unbeaten on 48 at just over a run a ball.
