Three sons of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh killed by Israeli air strike near Gaza City

Hamas ' most senior political leader Ismail Haniyeh have been killed in an Israel i air strike .The Israel i military said his sons were Hamas operatives, without providing futher detail.

Relatives said the group were making family visits during the first day of the Muslim Eid al-Fitr holiday.Several media reports and Hamas statements gave varying death tolls for the strike. Speaking to media in Sderot, Mr Gantz said that "from a military point of view, Hamas is defeated ... its fighters are eliminated or in hiding" and its capabilities had been "crippled".Entire cities are transformed in the months since the October 7 Hamas attack and Israel's ensuing bombardment of the Gaza Strip. Drone footage shows the full extent of the damage."Fighting against Hamas will take time.

Palestinians visit the graves of their relatives who were killed in the war on the first day of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr.Israel regards the entire Hamas leadership as terrorists, accusing Mr Haniyeh and other leaders of continuing to "pull the strings of the Hamas terror organisation".
