NSW Police have arrested three A-League players for their alleged involvement in a betting scandal.

The players are accused of manipulating the number of yellow cards given to players in a certain game in exchange for profit.

NSW Police allege three men participated in the yellow card scandal which traces back to South America. Police arrested a 33-year-old man living in South Coogee, a 27-year-old Parramatta man and a 32-year-old in West Hoxton, near Sydney’s Liverpool. Investigators are working with the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, Sports Integrity Australia, Football Australia, Australian Professional Leagues, and the NSW Crime Commission.
