Thousands of Queensland Health employees will be shut out of their workplaces from Monday and can expect disciplinary action after failing to comply with the COVID-19 vaccination mandate.

Thousands of Queensland Health employees will be shut out of their workplaces from Monday after failing to comply with the COVID-19 vaccination mandate. The COVID-19 vaccine has been mandated for the 90,000 Queensland Health staff who care for patientsThe Director-General has warned they will soon be shut out of workplaces, sparking concerns of staffing shortages

Although the numbers represent only a small percentage of the Queensland Health workforce, health insiders have expressed concerns about workforce shortages at a time when public hospitals are already extremely stretched."If you are not vaccinated, you are putting yourself, your colleagues and patients at risk," Dr Wakefield said in the staff email.

Queensland Health Department Director-General John Wakefield says the "time for please" when it comes to workers being vaccinated against COVID is over.

It’s not a question of freedom of choice. It’s question of what the workplace safety requirements are. The risk management protocols must override the matter of individual choice and prioritise the needs of the patients and the workplace environs.

Is it mandatory for Politicians?

We live in a Dictatorship . No Democratic Rights anymore .The right to say what gets stuck in your body...gone . Do they know what the affects of this gene altering injection is in 5 years time .NO. They better pray .

'anti-vaxxers' A derogatory term for people who find Coercion and Dictatorial Power abhorrent . Most are vaccinated with real vaccines to prevent the measles, hepatitis, smallpox etc. The type of vaccine , where once you are jabbed , you don't catch or transmit the virus

If your not going to protect the sick ur in the wrong job

Palaszczuk's chickens coming home to roost. Dan next, then Marky, all thinking they got a free ride in the midst of COVID, ignoring the consequences piling up around them. Only a matter of time before citizens wake up and realise this is f*cked, not the way to run a country.

One way to get break from the grind

The solution is to tell their employees they’re tennis players😎

Maybe they need to go and work in some Sydney and Melbourne hospitals to actually see it. Qld have seen very little in the way of Covid, they need a touch of reality.

Information about subjects provided in this article is scant on detail, and should show all reasons.

What are these people thinking of!? Of course they must be vaccinated. If not they pose a serious health hazard to themselves, their families, & anyone without Covid in a hospital let alone the general public.

If they have genuine reasons. Great. If they don't, they can be redeployed to work elsewhere. VPD is a requirement of the job. It says from time to time health advice changes and VPD and remaining VPD is mandatory. We even had to have antibody tests to check

It's not like health workers in public health, across all streams have had to have mandatory vaccinations, to become employed, for years. No jabs, no interview, no job. The Covid vaccine - One more vaccine added to the list of mandatory vaccinations required for employment.

They should have to inform patients that they are anti-health and the patient should have the choice on wether they want to be treated by some one who is too ignorant to believe in science. They should also only be paid by how many patients see them.

Let em go

How many of those are in the Admin or non medical (orderly/food services) streams I would hazard the majority of them. Plus side that is thousands of possibly (low experience needed) jobs for those who lost their jobs last year.

How many of these thousands are actually Drs and Nurses. There are thousands of admin staff that also work for QLD Health.

People who work in medicine scared of a vaccine? They need another profession

I suppose two thousand is technically a multiple of one thousand, but the expression of thousands does not seem quite fitting

I'm assuming they all vote PHON or UAP?

That state is fucked 😂

you mean less than 2% of Queensland health workers, don’t you? Or isn’t that sensational enough for you?
