Two families in south-west Sydney’s Greek community have been left shocked after the bodies of two elderly men were accidentally swapped by a local funeral home.

the discovery was made when her daughter asked to take a final look at her father’s body in the casket following the service.“My daughter say ‘Mum not my father this one ... another man’,” Ms Nicolopoulos recalled.

Both men were returned to their correct families and laid to rest in small ceremonies with their families later that day. Mr Haralambous said the casket had entered the church open but the error had only been picked up when the daughter approached to have her final look.
