A busy restaurant in Sydney has made its workplace more inclusive, finding it's been beneficial for both the business and its employees. Here's how they did it.

But after 15 years, Sydney restaurant head chef Sarinporn Trirattana found herself creating a quiet space in hers.

Darren is one of two recent recruits at House Made Hospitality, which runs several inner Sydney restaurants. The two men work as preparation chefs, organising ingredients for use in the kitchens. Pear puts a large part of her restaurant's success down to taking the time to get to know the new employees and understanding their strengths at the beginning.

Creating an inclusive workplace was a long-held goal of Scott Brown, the director of the Sydney restaurant where Darren and Robbie now work."It just took us a little while to find out how to do it and with who."As well as finding jobs for employees, it helps business owners find equipment, technology or training to make their workplaces more accessible.

"That's where we step in and facilitate the learning and communication between employer and employee," she said.

Melbourne overtakes Sydney as Australia’s largest cityMelbourne has surpassed Sydney as Australia's largest city, but only on a technicality –thanks to a boundary change. An adjustment to city boundaries using the Significant Urban Area classification, to include the district of Melton, lifted Melbourne's population to 4.875 million – 1,800 more than the Harbour City. Greater Sydney, which has different boundaries, is still larger than Greater Melbourne – but this won't last for long. The federal government in January predicted Melbourne's population would overtake Sydney’s by 2031. Welcome to Melbourne. Now make sure you obey orders and do not criticise government or else. Someone is failing in their orders from the WEF to depopulate Melbourne. Dictate harder Dan! 😴😴😴😴
