Holly Throsby found two boxes of VHS tapes on the street. It struck her how much it was worth not very long ago. |OPINION

Writer and musician Holly Throsby was walking down the street on council clean-up day when she came across two huge boxes of VHS tapes.on VHS and so much other incredible stuff, and it really struck me as to how much that was worth not that long ago,”Created by Joss Whedon,Everywhere you look people are junking physical media. Marie Kondo’s popular series on Netflix has had a galvanising effect on many people’s decluttering plans but it’s a long-running trend.

I too have been organising my house these past few months. Records were already pretty retro before I hit my peak music-buying days but I do have a lot of CDs. Many of them have broken jewel cases and my name in permanent marker from my share-house days. In real terms, $30 of mid-90s dollars is worth about $55 today. That’s more than four months’ worth of a Spotify Premium subscription, which gives you access to almost all the recorded music ever made. The only serious competition is all the free music, both legal and not.

Another advantage of physical media – whether it’s music, a movie or a book – is that I own my copy and I can give it away or sell it. With digital versions, I’m in the position of a supplicant.

More importantly, what was on them?

$150-200. Not more for 2 vhs.

Only politicians think Australians will change their opinion of a government in return for moneyThere are good reasons why a well-received budget hasn't improved the government's chances of winning. My vote is certainly worth more than the LiberalAus or AustralianLabor parties are offering No matter the flavour, branded Politics has lost its ability 2B 'fair dinkum'. Whilst some voters will follow their own self-interest (I.e. best budget outcome 4 them) many Aussies will shun the '30 pieces of silver' in favour of principled policies & outcomes. Does politics have intergrity?
