No one knew what to say when a star on the show cracked a gag about another panellist’s dad, only to be told that he’s no longer alive.

The cringe-worthy exchange occurred when Hit Network radio star Ash London buzzed in to answer a question about the current conflict in the Middle East.

“It’s something to do with a ceasefire,” she guessed. “Turkey and another nearby, similar neighbour?”Marty Sheargold, Tony Martin, Ash London, Melanie Bracewell and Sam Pang on HYBPA.As she nodded her head, London replied, “My dad was born in Syria, I should know that.”regular Sam Pang said sarcastically, “Wow, he’d be very proud right now!”Cue awkward silence.

Both London and Pang laughed off the back-and-forth and it was clear there was no hard feelings between the two.

I'm sure Sam meant nothing else by it and had he known, he wouldn't have said it.
