Robodebt victim breaks down recalling 'rude' department staff treating her 'like a criminal'

"They may as well have been asking for a million dollars, really. I couldn't have paid that amount. But I had no intention of paying it because I felt that there was an error, and I was determined to find out what that could have been."It was ultimately impossible to retrieve all the details from her employment four years before. Some employers had changed phone numbers, staff who knew her had since left, and one care service she had worked for had become defunct.

"I felt that they'd made an error and it was not my responsibility to correct their error. I'd done what was legally required of me … I felt that whatever they were doing at that end was dodgy and I was not going to be paying my hard-earned money to them," Ms Bevan said. "They were barking at me, like, 'you earned $1,600'… really blaming, blaming, blaming and viciously attacking me. And as much as I said, yes I got paid $1,600 that fortnight but the next fortnight I didn't earn anything, and that I did record that information.

"I do remember driving home at night, just beside myself with worry about this money and thinking, I could just drive my car into a tree and make it stop."She began crying, telling the royal commission through her wavering voice and tears that she knew her kids needed her. "It was just a really horrible time. And it was just made worse by this constant accusations of me apparently doing the wrong thing, when I went to such lengths to do the right thing.

In other words “I might have been the author, instigator, and enforcer, but it had nothing to do with me” The despicable just became more despicable!

'Just answer': Scott Morrison grilled in Robodebt hearingFormer prime minister Scott Morrison has been grilled for not answering questions directly related to his role in the Robodebt scheme during Wednesday's Royal Commission hearing. He's a sellout, and the prick should be in gaol. He's got blood on his hands. He couldn't lie straight in bed. Scott couldn't be nearly as bad as Bill Shorten with his litany of 'I can't recalls' in the Trade Union RC. Nothing will happen & no-one will be held accountable. I recall a politician who couldn't recall a decision made during 2021 that cost 801 people their lives. Against the Governments own recently passed legislation about accountability no-one was found accountable. Its a joke

‘Pathetic’: Scott Morrison dragged before Robodebt ‘show trial’Former prime minister Scott Morrison was “dragged in” for a kind of “show trial” before the Albanese government’s Royal Commission into the Robodebt scandal, Sky News host Andrew Bolt says. “It struck me as pathetic, to be honest,” Mr Bolt said. “There is absolutely no need for this Royal Commission. “The government has already admitted it was wrong to do that. There has already been a court case.” I think SM track record speaks for itself! Rubbish what, was Scumo dragged away from Brian Houston's house to attend a show cause meeting called by Bidenese himself? What a circus!! Doesnt matter what side of the fence... the yards are covered in shit....
