Employers are encouraging staff to recharge their batteries by turning Thursday’s one-off public holiday to mourn the Queen into the first day of a four or five-day weekend.
Staff were also invited to book a day off in Victoria and Western Australia. People in those states have the opportunity to haveon Friday in Victoria and on Monday in Western Australia. Real World Group chief executive Andrew Yager said this speculation was one of the factors behind his company’s decision to shut its office on Friday.
Sydney-based media agency Affinity has also advocated a four-day break.
