‘Better collective bargaining’: Bill Shorten on the IR bill’s bargaining powerGovernment Services and NDIS Minister Bill Shorten says the industrial relations bill will achieve better collective bargaining to help achieve a fairer work and pay contract. “Individuals are smart, I’ve always thought that, but where you lack bargaining power, how does an individual working in a factory, or work in a cleaning company, or work in a transport yard, just go and negotiate equally with an employer who’s got their lawyer, got their accountant.” Mr Shorten said. “If there’s better collective bargaining it levels the playing field.” Rudd, Gillard, Turnbull, Abbott all went but Bill Shorten thinks he's still a winner?
