Nuclear News

Cost Of Living,Dutton,Albanese

A surge in the polls helped spur the Coalition to announce its nuclear policy. Whether it holds on to that lead will come down to which side can persuade voters that such complex issues can magic up any short-term betterment in their lives.

Britain goes to the polls in two weeks' time. The Conservative government of Rishi Sunak is universally presumed to be in for a thrashing. The confidence of the presumption comes courtesy of that oft-seen phrase "according to the polls".

But at the very least it would seem safe to say that the only significant change at that point in time was the Coalition announcing a policy of not having a policy about 2030, was facing significant criticism as a result, but was suggesting its change of heart would help bring down energy prices and thus help the cost of living .

But it is equally true that Labor faces immense difficulties explaining the various strategies it has for energy in the next twenty years too. There's a lot of "Noodle Nation" vibe about it . The Coalition holds out the complexity of that new network, and a whole new transmission grid from this geographically spread out network, as a costly negative of Labor's policy. It capitalises on the lack of appeal of such big renewable footprints in some parts of the country.
