13/02/2020Liberal Senator Zed Seselja says there are questions around whether a charity linked with the activist group GetUp is “being effectively used as some sort of front” due to the different tax status of charities.
The charity called the ‘Commons Library’ was established by “former GetUp operatives” and is currently under investigation by the Australian Charities and Not For Profit Commission over links with the activist group after the charity appointed the former campaign director to its board. There is a “financial link [and] there are personnel links,” which could be clarified if GetUp uses the same transparency it “preaches” to everyone else.
