A thrill-seeking theme park experience took a terrifying turn when a group on the ride found themselves stuck upside down 21m in the air on a Warner Bros. Movie World attraction.

“Most of the riders who were trapped felt physically sick along with headaches, ear aches and sore muscles from being upside-down for so long,” she told 7NEWS.com.au, adding “a lot of riders also were in tears”. Smith says her family was told by the rider operator they had “no clue” how long the group would be stuck there, before four maintenance staff rushed over and brought them back to the ground.Credit:A Village Roadshow Theme Parks spokesperson said the incident was a “routine stoppage” due to one of the ride’s sensors being triggered.

The spokesperson said the “brief stoppage” was less than two minutes, during which the safety and wellbeing of guests remained the park’s highest priority.
