Former Nationals leader John Anderson says the Indigenous Voice to Parliament will achieve the opposite of what Australians want, which is a “greater degree of harmony”.

The no campaign – Recognise a Better Way – for a Voice to Parliament has officially launched with a six-member committee, which Mr Anderson is a part of.

“I’m keen to join with four Aboriginal people – distinguished Aboriginal Australians – who can recognise that this is not ultimately going to advance the interest of Aboriginal people,” he told Sky News host James Morrow.“We need to be focusing on unity and cooperation internally, not separatism.”

1/Of course EX Nationals Leader, ex Dep. PM during the Howard years, opposes 'the Voice', just as the Nationals NOW admit they oppose it despite not knowing the details. The LNPs' own Reports were done back THEN and in the LAST 9 YEAR LNP Govs, Nationals not knowing, says it ALL

John Anderson who?

Will only advance the people pushing it.

I could not agree more.

lets hope ALBO know why he is doing it........?

The Voice is about changing laws. You do not bring it into a referendum if this is not your final goal. Essentially one group of Australians will have greater power than the rest of Australians, that is not democracy but a dictatorship.

Sky News - Home of the bigots

I want Aboriginals off the pity train and to take advantage of what is on offer to them and to prosper. There is no reason a young person can't get ahead....but welfare stuffs that all up.

John Anderson was an outstanding politician, NP leader, & Deputy PM. It's a pity he is not still in government. He has always had a common sense approach, well reasoned arguments & outstanding knowledge of what has been successful or failed both in Australia and around the world!

The constitution is a rule book for governing. It serves all Australians equally. Singling out any group, no matter how well meaning, is repugnant. We have the same voice to parliament… one vote, one value. With the details hidden until after the vote, you’d be nuts to vote yes.

Australia has never been more divided. Welcome to country and the voice all about creating a divide in Australia between indigenous and non indigenous. The woke corporations and sporting organisations are doing their best to destroy social harmony. auspol

If they can fix Alice Springs on their own, I'll vote yes. Until then, it's a no.

And if ever there was a concept that would bog down the efficient operation of Government decision making…National, State and Local… it would be the voice and its demand for early input and obligatory consultation on a wide range of topics. VoteNo

Why didn't you achieve harmony with aborigines when you were Nationals leader? We need a voice to achieve harmony by giving recognition and dignity and respect to aborigines.

Albanese needs to show ‘true bipartisanship’ on Voice to ParliamentShadow Immigration Minister Dan Tehan says if Anthony wants to do the “right thing” when it comes to the Voice to Parliament, he should sit down with Peter Dutton and 'address all the questions' asked. This comes as a formal ‘No’ campaign is set to launch today, led by a six-member committee. “The tragedy is, if Anthony Albanese as Prime Minister had reached across the aisle and shown true bipartisanship, then we wouldn’t be in this situation,” Mr Tehan told Sky News Australia. “If he had’ve reached across the aisle, sat down with Peter Dutton, we wouldn’t be in this situation that we are, that we already have a ‘No’ case out there, putting arguments which really are about the lack of detail that we’ve seen from Anthony Albanese.” VoteNo He's met with Dutton on multiple occasions, maybe Dutton should ask actual questions instead of playing petty Abbott like politics. auspol Oh DanTehanWannon do you not remember the referendum on the republic in 1999? Two questions and bugger all details? Because the details are debated and legislated by Parliament, but the LNP already know that. Your turn for the RobodebtRC decoy?

Voice to Parliament is a ‘practical reform’Uluru Statement Signatory Thomas Mayor says the Voice to Parliament is a “practical reform” as Indigenous Australians are “tired” of symbolism. “It’s really about establishing the principle that Indigenous people should be listened to,” Mr Mayor told Sky News Australia. “We know that when Indigenous people are listened to about the solutions in their communities, then that is when things are gotten right. “It’s when we’re not listened to that things go wrong.” Is that near Ayres Rock? 🇦🇺 Practical reform would be to go through the 1000 orgs that already claim to be a voice & look at the end points along with cost V rewards. It’s costing billions & ignoring that & screaming we need more voices is purely creating a bigger hole

Campaign against Voice to Parliament gains high-profile politiciansA group of high-profile Indigenous Australians has banded together with a former deputy prime minister to co-ordinate the No campaign ahead of this year's Voice referendum, running on the slogan 'Recognise a Better Way'. The only reason there is no funding for the Yes and No Campaigns is that Albo knows he has the ABC to spruik the Yes side. Nothing says equality like special treatment. Which ones of the persons pictured are currently a high profile politician?
