Starting the school year is daunting for many teenage students, let alone doing it with a baby in tow, but one Queensland school principal is giving these young mothers a second chance at a decent education.

"Teenage pregnancy is at an historic low, but there's still around 8,000 babies born to teen mothers every year," Ms Mitchell said.

"Young parents are also at high risk of health and mental health issues, and their children are more likely to be born at a low birth weight, preterm and have cognitive and behavioural issues. "It's good that it's going down, but we need to be working hard to support young parents who are struggling."The AHRC's Children's Rights Report 2019, being tabled in Parliament today, recommends the Federal Government continues providing children with education on sexual and reproductive health as part of the mandatory school curriculum, with special attention on preventing early pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.

WHO urges against China travel bans as coronavirus cases soar past 20,000The World Health Organisation advises against trade and travel restrictions to China amid the coronavirus outbreak that has so far killed at least 425 people. the WHO is officially dead to me, gone the same way as the UN. Giving advice that's based on feelings as opposed to facts. Completely disagree with WHO. The science is still in it's infancy. It is horrible for China but the infections need to be stopped and it can be done without stigma and longterm damage. So we should act on climate change immediately but its already pointless to act on corona virus scomo did the right thing shutting down travel from China the who and un can't be trusted
