NSW Senator KKeneally says according to the PM’s new standard, he should now ask Mr Alexander to step down. Speers ausvotes

New South Wales Labor Senator Kristina Keneally says Scott Morrison is setting a new standard for those running for office by declaring a person is unfit to be a candidate if they make offensive comments, no matter how long ago or if they’ve apologised.

The Prime Minister called for Bill Shorten to remove Luke Creasey as a Labor candidate after social media posts, which included rape jokes and offensive remarks about women, emerged. Mr Creasey withdrew his candidacy on Friday. The Senator points to Liberal MP John Alexander, who faced scrutiny in the Bennelong bi-election when footage of him telling racist jokes emerged. Ms Keneally says according to the PM’s new standard, he should now ask Mr Alexander to step down.

vanbadham KKeneally Yes he should

DoNutCentre KKeneally ScottMorrisonMP was adamant saying sorry wasn't good enough for the Labor candidate, ask Scott why its good enough for John Alexander? If he doesn't sack him, scott is saying he supports his comments, he finds nothing wrong with them?

KKeneally Yes, indeed he should. Tired of the Coalition ‘double-standards’ over this last 6 years!

KKeneally If Alexander stepped down, would anyone notice?

KKeneally 👏👏Keep on the case, Kristina‼️ Ridding Parliament of dishonourable, Class A HasBeen 🦝JAforBennelong🦝 is a worthy service. Alexander has contributed ZERO to politics; he’s used Bennelong as nought but a lazy way to coast back to obscurity where he so richly belongs.

TerrySerio KKeneally Of course John Alexander should stand down for his appalling insensitivity towards women. Rape has never been an issue to be laughed at. All power to KKeneally for calling it a it is. If ScottMorrisonMP has any integrity he will disendorse John Alexander.

KKeneally What PatKarvelas saying about JA then ? auspol ausvotes

MickKime KKeneally He should but he won’t, Scott Morrison won’t show any integrity here.

denniallen KKeneally KK is correct - John Alexander needs to quit.

KKeneally Neither was the standard with labour

KKeneally So KKeneally is also a supporter of somebody who publicly supports rape. Amazing no wonder Shifty did nothing as KK is his major mentor in this campaign

KKeneally Keneally is a failed NEW south wales ex premier..

KKeneally Morrison you filthy lying religious hypocrite...FORCE ALEXANDER TO REISIGN...FORCE ALEXANDER TO RESIGN...force Alexander to resign

KKeneally Well then if you want to start picking and choosing. Why are you in the senate? Many in Labor should not be there either. Stupidity from the senator again. ausvotes

KKeneally Meanwhile nobody’s girl has never had any standards when she has been in government. When does Eddie get parole Kk?

Why can't we say this? The good thing about this 'controversy' is that it has raised the Muslim problem which the big parties won't seem to deal with. We don't want brutal outdated belief systems here that produce religious buffoons and oppress women.
