But these shifts can turn into sleepless days if there's trouble getting people in or out, or if there's more work to do.Something that's changed over the past 20 years is that now we can keep in touch with volunteers when they're on a break.
But as I'm talking to Dad, he's sending out volunteers for three days to areas with limited phone reception, no electricity, and food shortages.
