Old school becomes new again

, businesses say they have been pleasantly surprised by the renewed demand for physical forms of music and movies.Electronics retailer JB Hi-Fi this week said it had experienced a decline of almost 12 per cent in the broader sales category that includes music, movie and games software. Yet music sales alone were up 8 per cent on last year.

Its vinyl bestsellers included classic rock throughout the decades, while younger fans snapped up artists such as Harry Styles, Billie Eilish and Tyler, the Creator. And he is quite literally run off his feet. After revamping his website to attract online sales, he decided it was quicker to hand deliver records around Melbourne than wait up to an hour each day in post office queues to send them through the mail.He said there had been particular interest in Australian artists and an interest in "quality over quantity"."I like to hear the record how the artist meant it to be.
