Was the dancing sexist or feminist? Should women be defending the right of the dancers to dance, but objecting to their objectification by the ABC cameras? So tantalising even Prime Minister Scott Morrison weighed in at the end of his press conference announcing the end to Australia’s deployment in Afghanistan. “I’m disappointed that this event was so misreported,” he told reporters on Thursday. “[The ABC] was wrong, was false and was misleading and I think that is very disappointing.
Last Sunday the government’s line on mass vaccination changed within a few hours, when Morrison appeared on Facebook to announce there was no longer any time target for the vaccine rollout. Notwithstanding the hurdles which are out of the government’s control, it was a shabby look. The new plan is not to have a specific plan, it seems.
This anti-wokeness argument seems to be most often launched at people who want to talk about the allegations of war crimes made against the special forces, particularly against Victoria Cross recipient Ben Roberts-Smith.But if objecting to war crimes is a sign of political correctness gone mad, then the culture warriors might have taken a wrong turn somewhere. We are not talking about the use of gender-neutral pronouns on base.
“Put a team under constant, deadly pressure and you get a team whose perspective is not in line with the one they started out with,” he says. “But ultimately any Australian soldier is well trained enough to know when they’re doing the wrong thing.”
Too bad they can't actually dance as a group. Their dance coreographer/instructor should resign in disgrace.
What I want to know is why were there no male dancers in tight shorts twerking? Be fair.
