Genome sequencing has confirmed the woman caught the virus in hotel quarantine and not from a passenger on the flight to Australia.
The woman arrived in Brisbane from Portugal and went immediately into mandatory hotel quarantine, where she was tested three times. This is when she tested positive. A contact tracing effort was launched, with multiple locations in Brisbane named as exposure sites, including the DFO shopping complex near the airport.
Maybe the pair hooked up
1. Singapore primarily does home quarantine. 2. Surprised air crew aren’t fully vaccinated already. 3. Was the genomic match to this case a Pilot? 14 days is a long time to spend locked up on your own. They are known to roam.😉
For the billionth time: COVID-19. IS. AIRBORNE. This was confirmed by the WHO months ago. Hotel quarantine is NOT ADEQUATE to contain an airborne virus. The failure of the Morrison Government to provide dedicated quarantine facilities will result in more and more of these cases!
