Designer Kit Willow is joining the growing fashion resale market by finding new homes for pre-loved KitX creations

The pervasive scent of camphor, BO and regret once permeated attitudes towards secondhand clothing but Australian designer Kit Willow is joining the growing list of luxury labels blocking their noses and airing pre-worn dresses in the fashion resale market., in a grassroots attempt to quench Australian shoppers’ appetite for disposable fashion.

“With KitXchange, I never want to see a KitX garment in landfill. There is always someone who will find it and love it. It’s about loving longer.”The program sees customers return KitX pieces, which are then repaired, altered and cleaned for resale through the KitXchange on the brand’s website. Garments will be styled and sold, with 50 per cent of the sale refunded as a KitX voucher to the original owner.

A KitX outfit constructed using denim scraps ushered in designer Kit Willow’s pre-order approach to sales at Australian Fashion Week in June.“Pre-owned luxury is now a real and deeply rooted trend,” Francois-Henri Pinault, chairman and CEO of Kering, said in a statement. “This fits naturally with our entrepreneurial spirit, our pioneering sustainability strategy, and our modern vision of luxury.”

“If someone wants to pocket the dollars into cash and resell it, there’s no competition. If a garment can be rehomed and reloved, then I’m happy. It’s more for our community, who might not want to sell it elsewhere. Their body or taste may have changed since buying their first piece and they may have their eye on a new one.”

I don't normally support hitting children, but I'll make an exception. 5 months, not bad. If he was in WLD he would have gotten Bail If he was white, he would have been given a kiss and a cuddle, then sent on his way.

Teen forced to isolate in Sydney unit after COVID-19 outbreak — even though he doesn't live thereA teenager is being forced to isolate for 14 days after unwittingly entering a south-west Sydney apartment complex locked down by COVID-19. The rule was no visitors unless nominated.....Stiff cheese. I have questions...like how come his cousin didn't tell him the building was locked down? Why wasn't he stopped from entering? Why he isn't allowed to have someone drop off his laptop and clothes when they put the bins out? Seems like everyone being an idiot. I thought visiting anyone or property was not allowed?
