Social distancing in Sydney is improving, but it's not enough to control the Delta COVID-19 variant, according to new modelling — and that spells bad news for the city's lockdown.

, showed that compliance with social distancing measures was around 60 per cent.

NSW Police say people are still flouting the rules and commissioner Mick Fuller has been granted additional powers to enforce restrictions. The fine for not wearing a mask has increased from $200 to $500 and police have been given the power to close down workplaces not complying with public health orders.Professor Prokopenko estimated between 25 and 30 per cent of Sydney's population were essential workers who had to remain out and about.

That would see the lockdown lasting until September 12 but the date is pushed out further because case numbers have still not peaked. Professor Prokopenko said at that rate, at least 40 per cent of the population would be fully vaccinated by mid-September.

They wish September, we tried that half arsed lock down in Melbourne. It doesn’t work. Ring of steel, curfews and travel restrictions need to be added, otherwise you are waisting time.

Given the current data and anti-lockdown events, I have a feeling that it wi...l...l be Oct. to clear the local transmission case.

so many theories.........why not get the transmission methods worked out before publishing?

Workers at Essential workplaces not doing the Covid safe protocols right and then bringing it home. Employers need to try harder to keep it safe.

Didn’t read the story but is the key failure pictured below? auspol

A high percentage of southwestern Sydney has been allowed to be occupied by non-English speaking people (in many cases entire suburbs). Do they understand the severity of the problem or are they just going about their business as if nothing has happened? More education required!

So I did a CTRL+F and searched for two key words in the entire article - 'Melbourne' and 'Victoria'. Surprise, surprise.. 0 hits. And you wonder why the SydneySecondWave DeltaVariant is out of control? Try asking those who have been through it for advice. COVID19nsw

'Armageddon' as more than 2 million Sydney workers hit by lockdown expansionFrom midnight tonight, residents in the local government areas of Parramatta, Georges River and Campbelltown will not be allowed to leave their area for work unless they meet specific criteria. It's cruel and unjust. The government is criminal. The Great reset. Reminiscent of 1665 and 1666 England. So emotive.. over it...
