The practice of strip-searching women at airports is disturbingly common, experts say.

“It was a special visa and, in a way, it was seen as jumping the queue, so they were physically tested to ascertain whether they were virgins or not,” she said.Professor Marmo and her team led an extensive research project into the UK’s"virginity testing" practices, tracking down the women who had been subjected to the tests decades ago.

“A blood or urine pregnancy test would still be positive for a few days, at least, after any birth, so that would be the best option.” Professor Marmo said she was disappointed to see people dismiss the incident in Doha as a"cultural issue", adding that women are still internally examined at airports around the world.

A 2011 inquiry find 71 per cent of searches at London's Gatwick Airport were neither 'proportionate nor justified'.A 2011 review into London’s Gatwick airport found internal examinations were being performed “without the appropriate level of authorisation”, while women and people of African descent accounted for the highest proportion of searches.

Everybody knows that the only way we can be truly safe is if the government sexually assaults us and confiscates our nail clippers.

Australian police have been doing it to under-age girls at music festivals, for years!

Exaggerated and manipulated.... it is not common practice, and occurred specifically by authorities conducting carrying out their lawful duties. You in Australia have police Strip searching 12 year olds simply attending a music fest. Arresting pregnant woman for texting. &c

I'd bet it isn't common if the woman is wearing a burka or chador. Imagine the outrage if even one Muslim woman was treated like that anywhere in the Christian world, heads would roll ‼️

Equal rights mean equal treatment

This is awfully Islamaphobic

Cant imagine why anyone would ever fly Qatar ever again.

We also have a police force who like to strip search teen girls at music festivals
