“It’s a mountain that Labor has to climb,” the Labor leader said ahead of the expected election campaign. auspol federalelection

put Labor on a primary vote of 38 per cent, ahead of the Coalition’s 34, and Mr Albanese one point ahead as preferred prime minister. The poll does not publish a two-party preferred comparison.

He said that during a recent trade school visit in Brisbane, he asked how many students wanted to start their own business. “More than half of their hands went up,” Mr Morrison said. “How good’s that? That’s why I love Australia.”Labor also released a TV advertisement, to air from Sunday, in which Mr Albanese refers to his upbringing, Sydney University economics degree and six years as infrastructure minister.

In recent days both leaders have focused their rhetoric on each other, portending a highly personal, negative campaign. On Friday, Mr Morrison urged voters not to risk the “uncertainty” of a Labor Party that was trying to make itself a small target by minimising its policy agenda, and promised scrutiny in the weeks ahead.

But Mr Albanese said on Saturday it was Mr Morrison who was devoid of policy. “I haven’t seen any,” he said. “He handed down a budget where all the handouts end once people have cast their ballot papers ... then it will be back to business as usual, a government treading water.”

Labor “Australia will be in the doghouse party”. Would be a catastrophic mistake

No

Of course ScoMo can be re-elected. Voters don’t always get it right. Who would have thought Trump would be leader of the free world. Last federal election the liberals jumped ship. Not even they thought ScoMo would be elected. He is the Accidental Prime Minister.

Wear spikes in your climbing boots, and tread all over talkalot.

But AlboXi you are still 🇨🇳 favourite. What r the polls saying again? Cannot lie straight in 🛏 Very much like ThatDan

We're the underdog.....

You are quite wrong MrAlbanese. This govt is NOT the favourite. How can it be with so many occurrences of dereliction of duty towards the needs of the people it was supposed to represent.A Labor Govt must look at every single move this Govt has made since Turnbull was ousted.

CluelessAlbo 🤷‍♂️

Just come with one or two more popular policies and should be home...:)

The ALP seems very united and cohesive compared to Lib chaos. (Despite Kitching business) Libs and Morrison are a mess.

They have been cocky since day 1 Labor’s narrative has holes 🕳everywhere Labor is collapsing again! 🙌 AusPol2022

the ALP has MSM on its side - they really believe it is plain sailing (no mountains in sight)

Scott Morrison becomes a punching bag for Labor and Liberals alikeCharacter assassination has taken the place of policy for Labor. But it’s the parochial fury of his own NSW party that is really unsettling the Coalition campaign. Character assassination in lieu of policy? Sounds like Labor is using the same tactics that won the LNP the 2019 election. I’d argue it’s ScoMo that’s busy assassinating his own character, but he’d have to have had some in the first place. Being the most useless, incompetent, corrupt government in living memory is not character assassination - its fact. Not only does Labor offer real policy that will benefit the country rather than foreign business but it offers actual leadership. Doesn't it get tiring Phil?
