Melburnians have been warned to book their place in the sun during school holidays as demand soars. covid19 lockdown holidays

Melburnians looking to take advantage of reopened state borders for a holiday in the sun have been warned to move quickly, with northern Australia’s hotspots filling up fast and prices for hotels and short-term rentals already soaring.

Queensland and South Australia both announced on Tuesday they would open their borders to travellers from Melbourne on Friday, joining Tasmania and the Northern Territory, which both opened on Monday. Western Australia is the only state still in effect off limits to Melbourne residents.
