A challenge to moves by states to impose payroll tax on medical centre operators could turbocharge a growing revenue grab by governments around the country.

State governments are preparing to turbocharge a payroll tax revenue grab, pending the outcome of a closely watched legal appeal against moves to crack down on employment arrangements of healthcare providers.

The Australian Medical Association estimates 81 per cent of general practices in the state will be affected. The case that underpins the move is set to be considered by the full bench of the NSW Court of Appeal on Friday. The challenge by Thomas and Naaz, a large private medical centre operator, against Revenue NSW is being closely watched by state governments.said payroll tax was nationally harmonised and the Queensland move was likely to be followed in most jurisdictions.

“In my view, under a typical agreement between a clinic operator and a healthcare professional, no services are supplied to the clinic operator,” Mr Cridland said.

Matt Kean the most ‘despised politician’ in history of state politicsNSW One Nation leader Mark Latham says his party’s candidates think Treasurer Matt Kean is the most “despised politician in the history of state politics” because he surrendered to the teals. “I suppose for the Liberal Party it’s now part of their split identity, split personality where Matt Kean waves the white flag to the teal, whatever they say on climate change, the risk of blackouts, rising electricity prices in New South Wales because we are rushing to 100 per cent renewables,” Mr Latham told Sky News host Peta Credlin. “Kean says ‘yeah we will do all that’ because of the teal concerns, plus pending billions of dollars in the budget on so-called female programs that don’t benefit women actually in need in the western suburbs of Sydney.” Woof woof he’s a dog Already told Stuart Ayer’s that green Kean is disliked here in Penrith when I saw him last week. I’d be happy if Kean is voted out A bit rich coming from the failed leader of the Labor Party, taxi driver basher, but Labor also produced, GraemeCampbell who loved driving around Wiluna WA, in an air conditioned Commonwealth car but refused to emerge at Lake Way station - too hot! 🤣
